Important Tour Information

We're excited to share this meaningful experience with our volunteers! Please review the following information as you prepare for your journey to Kenya.

Travel Arrangements & Flights

Participants are responsible for arranging and covering the cost of their own travel to and from Kenya, including airfare, passports, visas or travel authorizations, and other personal travel expenses.

Kids for Peace will share the flight details of our core volunteer team so participants have the option to coordinate their travel and fly together. Participants are also welcome to make their own travel arrangements.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

We understand that plans can change and strive to offer a fair and transparent refund policy.

  • 90 days or more before departure: 100% refund of tour payments, less a $25 administrative fee.

  • Fewer than 90 days before departure: Tour payments are nonrefundable due to advance commitments and arrangements made for the trip.

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to Kids for Peace.

We strongly encourage participants to purchase travel insurance to protect against unexpected cancellations, illness, or travel disruptions.

If Kids for Peace cancels the tour, participants will receive a full refund of all tour payments made directly to Kids for Peace within 30 days of cancellation. Independently purchased travel expenses, such as airfare, visas, and travel insurance, are not covered.

  • Have appropriate support and a plan for managing ongoing physical or mental health needs.

  • Manage prescribed medications independently or with assistance from an accompanying companion.

  • Participants with recent significant health changes may be asked to consult their healthcare provider regarding their readiness to travel.

Volunteer Expectations

Inclusivity & Accommodations

Kids for Peace is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming experience for all volunteers. We recognize that every participant has unique needs and abilities and will work collaboratively to explore reasonable accommodations whenever possible.

Some aspects of the Kenya Volunteer Tour may present logistical or environmental challenges.

We encourage prospective participants with specific accessibility, health, or accommodation needs to contact us before registering so we can discuss how to best support their participation.

Participation & Safety

The safety and well-being of our volunteers and host communities are our priority. Kids for Peace reserves the right to decline or discontinue participation when essential program requirements cannot be met with reasonable accommodations or when serious safety or behavioral concerns arise.

We encourage all participants to consult their healthcare providers before traveling and to review current health recommendations and entry requirements for Kenya.
